INSTRUMENTS Ruth has two violas made by Peter Boardman, who lives in Donaghadee, Northern Ireland. Peter is a fine violin maker, and many players in the Ulster Orchestra use his instruments. Peter also repairs and maintains string instruments, and was responsible for extensive repairs to Ruth's violin some years ago. Phone 028 9188 3474 |

The baroque violin in the pictures below also belongs to Ruth. It was made by Peter Boardman. The bow is a baroque bow made by David van Edwards, a luthier and bow-maker in Norwich who makes renaissance and baroque lutes, and baroque bows. |

PIANOS Orion Duo relies on being able to hire pianos on a number of occasions each year. We use Delivery Services for this. They keep a good stock of well-maintained pianos, including uprights and grand pianos in different sizes. They deliver the piano to the venue, collect it after use and also supply a stool for the player. Phone 028 9031 5080 VENUES Orion Duo promotes an annual series of concerts with dinner in the interval at Malone House, Barnetts Demesne, Belfast. This lovely Georgian mansion is set in beautiful grounds, located on Malone Road in south Belfast, with a beautiful view towrds the Lagan valley. The house is owned and maintained in very good condition by Belfast City Council, and the largest of the rooms provides a good acoustic and excellent atmosphere for concerts. There are rooms of several sizes to hire, and the catering is excellent, with options ranging from a buffet to a six-course banquet. Phone 028 9068 1246
